Kanaweyimik is an independent, non-political child welfare agency providing child welfare and family services to five First Nations. Moosomin, Mosquito, Red Pheasant, Saulteaux & Sweetgrass First Nations.
Position: Kanaweyimik Child & Family Services is offering a unique, exciting opportunity to work in a program that provides holistic, therapeutic treatment services to individuals and families who have experienced violence and abuse. This multi-disciplinary program is a combined approach of Western therapeutic and Aboriginal cultural perspectives. Regular and ongoing clinical supervision will be provided.
Qualifications: The successful applicant will have a Masters degree in a related field and be registered with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists or the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers with experience providing individual, group and family counselling. Be knowledgeable and sensitive to Aboriginal issues with an understanding of the dynamics and effects of intergenerational trauma experienced by Aboriginal peoples.
Computer skills are a position requirement;
Excellent verbal, written and time management skills are required;
Demonstrated ability to deliver presentations/workshops for clients, communities, and staff
A clear criminal records check and vulnerable sector check must be presented at interview;
Must have a valid drivers licence.
Must have professional liability insurance.
Ability to speak the Cree language is a definite asset.
Must provide 4 personal references and 4 professional references.
