**This is a Summer Student position, you must be enrolled as a student to qualify for employment**
The Town of Dundurn invites applications for a summer student position with the Public Works Department with a start date of July 4, 2016 or earlier if available.Hours of work will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with lunch between 12 & 1 pm. Applicants must have a valid Saskatchewan drivers license and have some knowledge of small equipment operations. Please submit your cover letter and resume. A current drivers abstract must accompany your application. Rate of pay is $12.50 hourly.The successful applicant will be required to provide a Social Insurance Number as well as a criminal record check. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Public Works Superintendent, the incumbent will assist in the day-to-day operations and maintenance within the Town as follows:
Mow grass, water flowers, trims shrubs, tend flower beds and regularly inspect assigned work areas to ensure proper standards are maintained
Operate lawn and grounds equipment including power mowers, weed eaters, and other grounds keeping equipment.
Repairs damaged ground areas
Remove refuse and trash from town parks, grounds and properties
Adjusts, cleans and performs minor mechanical work on grounds equipment
Drive vehicles such as a car, truck or truck & trailer to pick up supplies and materials
Assist with water and sewer readings and maintenance.
Other general duties as assigned
