Description

SECRETARY/TREASURER POSITION (Permanent Part-time)
THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION LOCATED IN PRINCE ALBERT IS LOOKING FOR AN ENERGETIC, SELF-MOTIVATED INDIVIDUAL TO FILL THE POSITION OF SECRETARY- TREASURER PREFERABLY WITH EXPERIENCE IN SAGE 50.  THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST BE ABLE TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY WITH LIMITED OR NO SUPERVISION AT TIMES, BE HIGHLY ORGANIZED.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE;
Payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Pay invoices in a timely matter, prepare bank deposits, verify and reconcile monthly bank statements, input daily cash data into computer, prepare financial statements, prepare budgets
Manage correspondence, reports and set up /maintain filings systems
Participate in Finances, Executive and General Meetings
PREFERENCE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING;
working with a not for profit organization
financial/computer programs such as; Sage 50, Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheets and Outlook.
be able to compile, calculate, enter and summarize data quickly and accurately
monitor cash flow
prepare monthly financial statements  
be able to prepare the year end within auditors parameters
work with event fundraiser profit-loss information
prepare budgets
experience in inventory control sheets
experience in liquor & gaming permits, licensing, and consumption tax
payroll preparation and reports to CRA and other agencies as required
REQUIREMENTS:
must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking English
must have at least 2 years bookkeeping/secretary experience
must be able to work without supervision
be willing to record minutes, attend monthly Executive & General meetings and prepare minutes for distribution; this will require occasional evening work.
Knowledge of the Royal Canadian Legion would be helpful
be willing to have a criminal record check and be bondable
be willing to take on other duties as required
have own transportation
