Description

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit an experienced Director of Sales to plan, design and direct the efforts of the sales and sales support team to achieve their targets. The Director of Sales will be responsible for the professional development of the sales team as well as managing their own list of accounts.

The Role:

A key member of the regional leadership team with direct line reporting to the Vice President of Sales.
Develop and manage new business opportunities and partnerships.
Prepare sales forecasts and submit regular status reports.
Develop, coach, mentor and recruit all staff within the Region, with a focus on optimizing the capability of the sales team, including long term staff development and retention.
Responsible for monitoring and coaching the performance of the sales team through active outbound calling, individual weekly review sessions, monthly group sales meetings and ad hoc mentoring engagement.
Play a key role in building and maintaining effective relationships with key accounts.
Develop and own a detailed training and development plan for the sales team.
Demonstrate strong leadership in providing clear direction to staff while maintaining a productive and fun work environment where people can thrive and grow professionally.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking someone with a minimum 5 years' successful sales management, marketing and direct experience with a medium to large sized business.
A strategic leader who has the ability to be a tactical contributor to the sales process.
A leader with proven ability to drive accountability in a comparable sales management role.
Solid track record of achievement in building effective teams including leading as a "change agent" in past sales or management roles.
University Degree in Business, Marketing or IT.
