Description

Operations Supervisor, Prince Albert


PURPOSE:  
    Ensure that routing and work assignments are coordinated with driving staff to meet customer expectations and requirements for home-to-school, extra curricular and charter work.  
    Maintain positive, effective relationship and communication with driving personnel, internal and external customers in order to maximize customer satisfaction and service levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Assign drivers to cover routes, charters and additional work. Co-ordinate and monitor specific daily route management needs for local school boards. Communicate route updates to drivers,  updating route records in the office.
    Participate in meetings as requested.  Ensure all drivers attend all required safety meetings.
    Utilize in house computer systems, including but not limited to excel, Microsoft email.  Consistent and effective two way radio communications.
    Completion of daily dispatch sheets and monthly billing summaries.
    Coordinate vehicle maintenance and scheduling with Shop Manager and drivers.  Vehicle assignment.
    Must have and maintain valid Class 2A/S licence able to drive route(s) as required.  
      Ensure routes run on schedule and driver concerns are addressed.
    Keep manager informed in all aspects of operations.
    Flexibility with work hours to meet operational needs.
    Complete additional projects on time as required.

EDUCATION:  Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
    Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills essential.
    Professional and friendly telephone, radio and in-person manner.
    Sound knowledge of computers including windows and Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel).
    Team player.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    Working knowledge of city and surrounding areas.
    Superior organizational skills.
    Previous experience in a supervisory role.
