Description

Applications are invited for a temporary full-time Behaviour Coach at Education Centre in the RM of Sherwood commencing August 30, 2016 and ending June 30, 2017.  

In addition to possessing the characteristics of initiative, creativity, and a sincere desire to contribute to the learning opportunities for all students, the ideal candidate will have an above average understanding of Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide training and leadership to work with schools in maintaining and/or building effective Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III Positive Behaviour Intervention and Support teams.
Provide training and leadership to promote and provide resources around Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports for administrators.
Provide support to student services teachers on effective behaviour goals on IIPs.
Model and work directly with teachers and educational assistants to build local capacity around behaviour programming.
Model for school staff the use of replacement strategies/redirection and the utilization of self-monitoring systems when implementing behavior supports for students with behavioral challenges.
Focus on building local capacity in schoolsby researching and creating training opportunities within the Division.
Facilitate and guide the process of Functional Behaviour Assessments or Prevent-Teach-Reinforce for particularly challenging cases.


Additional professional learning and resources in the above areas may be provided as necessary.

Qualifications:
Saskatchewan Professional A teaching certificate;
Experience in student services or behavioural programming;
Special Education Certification would be an asset;

Travel is required, system fleet vehicles are available or mileage is paid for use of a personal vehicle. The Division supports the principles of a representative workforce and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
