Job Description: Dual reporting responsibility to the Manager of Resident Care Services, Parkridge Centre (0.5 FTE), and Seniors' Health and Continuing Care Services, Long Term Care (0.5 FTE).

The Behaviour Management Consultant is responsible for providing clinical and consultation services to Parkridge Centre and consultation to other Saskatoon Health Region special care homes and to service providers to ensure the effective and efficient utilization of regional resources for residents identified as "difficult to serve". The incumbent also participates, implements and evaluates programs that are available for these clients (e.g.: clients with dementia, acquired brain injury and psychiatric illness) in order to identify gaps in service and participates in planning/developing services and programs to meet current and future needs
Required Qualifications

PhD in Clinical Psychology
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists
Experience
Direct clinical experience and demonstrated expertise in mental health and behavioural management programs for difficult to serve residents. A strong theoretical grounding in the provision of a comprehensive range of services to long term care residents in the management of challenging behaviour. Demonstrated experience and expertise in individual, family and group psychotherapy interventions and cognitive and psychological assessment and ability to integrate research based theory into practice.
