SUMMER POSITION

HJR Asphalt is currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technician to join their team.  The ideal candidate has experience in road construction and materials testing, is detailed orientated, and self-motivated with the ability to work well in a team environment.

Qualifications:

-Civil Engineering Technology Diploma and/or relevant experience an asset

-General understanding of QA/QC as well as OH&S practices/requirements

-Experience with the design and construction of roads in the Canadian Prairie Region would be an asset

-Experience with materials testing equipment an asset

-Familiar with Microsoft office, particularly Microsoft Excel

-Positive attitude and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential

-Must be available to travel and work on project sites throughout Saskatchewan

-Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Duties:

-The successful candidate will report  to the project manager, engineer, consultants, and contractors

-Provide quality control and quality assurance on a variety of laboratory and field testing projects including aggregate production, asphalt, and field density programs

-Work with a variety of field testing equipment

-Enter data into a spreadsheet and prepare reports

-Multitask and prioritize work in a team environment

-Shift-work will be probable
