The Oxbow Herald, part of Star News publishing, is seeking an energetic, creative, and dedicated media professional to join our editorial team as Reporter/Photographer.

Star News Publishing is a leading edge media publisher with a network of newspapers and websites that prints over 60 publications in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Our network includes over a dozen newspapers and their associated websites, including the Moose Jaw Times Herald, The Prince Albert daily Herald, Carnduff Gazette Post News, Southwest Booster plus weekly publications across Saskatchewan and Alberta.

We are looking for a person with a degree or diploma in journalism or a related field or prior experience. We need someone who is capable of writing three to four stories every day as well as the ability to take great photos to accompany their stories. The role involves a wide variety of hard and community news coverage in one of the largest and most vibrant communities in southern Saskatchewan. Having your own photography equipment is a significant asset in being considered for this position.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, inquisitive, personable and able to concentrate in a busy work environment. He or she will require a current driver's license along with a reliable vehicle. A good working knowledge of the Internet and website backends is an asset. A solid knowledge and aptitude with various social media platforms such as Twitter is also an asset. We are looking for someone with fresh ideas and a desire to establish  himself or herself in this business.
