North Sask Victim Services is a non-profit organization that works in cooperation with the RCMP to provide assistance to victims of crime and traumatic events. The Aboriginal Resource Officer will assist victims by providing crisis intervention, support, information and referrals as well as assisting the Coordinator in the recruitment and training of Aboriginal volunteer Victim Support Workers. The Aboriginal Resource Officer will be directly supervised by the La Ronge Coordinator and will work out of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band RCMP on-reserve detachment known as the CTA.
Qualifications
Related post-secondary education; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Successful completion of a security clearance by the RCMP
Comfortable working in a police environment
Reside within cell range of the La Ronge RCMP Detachment
Basic computer skills
Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and community resources
Demonstrated strength in interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
Ability to write and interpret reports
Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and week-ends as required
Valid drivers license and ability to travel within our program area (Northern Administration District)
Ability to speak in front of small groups

Salary Range
Starting salary of approximately $50,658
