Position and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing general shop assistance including, but not limited to, cleaning, organization, maintenance, and ordering of supplies.  May perform secondary operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities include:

    Assist with all support and equipment maintenance activities in the shop, including washing and cleaning the equipment.
    Operate basic machine tools.
    Maintain a clean shop and yard.
    Maintain work area for appearance and safety, follow safe work procedures and attend safety meetings.
    Responsible for general labour around the shop as required.
    Perform additional duties as assigned by the shop supervisor, mechanic or general manager.

Requirements of the Position

    Grade 12 or equivalent
    Third or fourth year apprentice preferred
    One to two years of relevant work experience
    Mechanically-inclined
    Warehouse or parts experience is considered an asset
    Ability to work on your feet for long hours
    Required to provide your own basic hand tools
