Description

The City of Yorkton is hiring one Summer Students to assist with the S-CAPE Program for the 2016 season.  We are looking for either a post-secondary student or student going into Grade 12 in the fall. The terms of employment will be from July until the end of August.  

Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement and evaluate a summer play program for children ages 6 to 12.
- Offer a variety of activities including sports, games, crafts and literacy, in a structured format.
- Check equipment on a regular basis and report any deficiencies to supervisor.
- Ensure the safety of program participants through proper supervision.
- Keep accurate program statistics and compile daily and weekly summaries of activities.

Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with staff and the general public.
- Ability to plan, organize and perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work well with volunteers and the general public
- Currently enrolled in post-secondary education
- Possess and maintain R.C.M.P. security clearance with a vulnerable sector.
