Description

Understanding of the dynamics of  addictions and provide thorough assessment and documentation of needs and risks
    Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deal with internal and external contact
This is a midnight shift work.
TASK LIST
    Facilitate a stable and supportive living environment for all  residents
    Ensure all residents are abiding by the rules of facility
    Record activities, routine happenings, as well as incidents during shifts in a factual and concise manner, using the provided log book and incident report forms.
    Conduct curfew checks, room inspections and bed checks as required.
    The incumbent exercises considerable initiative and is able to carry out the position duties with minimal direction and day to day supervision
    Foster a therapeutic environment and deescalate potentially violent situations including verbal aggression

QUALIFICATIONS (MINIMUM)
    Preference given to applicant  with a Social Services/Human Justice degree or an individual currently working toward a relevant degree or certificate
    Successful completion of grade 12
    Computer experience required
    Excellent verbal and written skills
    Work with minimal supervision
    Physically capable of completing tasks
    A valid Drivers license

Reports to the Managing Director of Salvation Army Kates Place
