Description

Hospice St. Marie Bernard Inc. is a group home located in Grayson, Saskatchewan with 8 beds specializing in the care of adults with cognitive disabilities.
-Provide physical and personal support to participants as necessary (this may include bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, oral hygiene, basic routine care, and any other tasks necessary to promote the well-being of the participant) assisting their development of life skills
- Lift, transfer, and reposition those participants with mobility limitations
- Depending on participants' ability, use a variety of techniques to communicate which may include pictures or non-verbal prompts
- Provide a home-like atmosphere which is conducive to the emotional and physical well-being of the participants
- Assist participants so they may participate in community events enhancing their social skills
- Act as a positive role model for participants, encouraging positive interpersonal relationships
- Support participants in daily living errands and recreational activities
- Organize and take part in leisure activities designed to keep the participants active both physically and mentally (games, crafts, exercises, music, etc)
- Store, administer, and document use of medications as required and in accordance with established medication policies and procedures
- Maintain records related to individual participant programs and support needs, reporting any concern to the administrator (health, behavioural, social)
