Description

Sunrise Health Region requires a permanent, part time .8 fulltime equivalent, Primary Health Care Family Physician for the Health and Wellness Centre in Yorkton and the Primary Health Care site in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan. The physician must hold full or provisional licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan and maintain membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

This contracted position works primarily in a team-based Primary Health Care setting in the City of Yorkton, with itinerant services to Foam Lake 2 to 3 days per week. The clinics are modern, well organized and fully equipped. The Yorkton primary health care team consists of 5.6 FTE contracted physicians, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 1 Registered Nurse, a Chronic Disease Management Team, Mental Health Therapists, visiting Pharmacist and clinic support staff. The Foam Lake Primary Care site is located within the Foam Lake Health Centre and is supported by 2 Nurse Practitioners. This position provides opportunity to practice primary care in an innovative, multi-disciplinary team setting. The successful candidate must have the capacity to assume care of an already established practice.

The successful applicant may qualify for the Rural and Regional Practice Establishment Grant Program, offered through the Saskatchewan Medical Association, which provides $25,000.00 to an eligible family physician that establishes a practice for a minimum of twenty-four months in a rural Saskatchewan community.
