SUMMARY:        The Volunteer Fire Chief works closely with the Portfolio Councillor.  The Volunteer Fire Chief will be responsible for the overall operation of the Fire Department for Kahkewistahaw First Nation, also is responsible for organization and direction for the volunteer Fire Department in order to ensure that loss of life, property or injury as a result of fire is prevented and/or minimized.  Kahkewistahaw First Nation Fire Department provides services to the surrounding community as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    Grade 12 or GED Equivalent
2.    Training in Fire Department Administration, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience with fire fighting, prevention and emergency medical services, including supervisory duties.
3.    Experience with budgetary and inventory control.
4.    Experience in writing reports and submitted them to Chief & Council upon request.
5.    Knowledge of fire suppression and prevention and emergency medical services principles, procedures, techniques and equipment.
6.    Must be physically fit to meet the demands of the position
7.    Possess a valid driver?s license and reliable vehicle
8.    Must submit a current within 3 months of the posted date criminal records check
9.    Must submit three written reference letters with cover letter and resume.
