Description

Reporting to the Finance & Systems Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and professional administration of contracts, ensuring the provision of accurate and timely services to CLS customers and suppliers. This position negotiates many different contract types, with legal, industrial and technical considerations. The Contract Specialist works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders in the development, negotiation, administration, tracking, and analysis of clear and concise contractual arrangements. This position ensures sound management practices are followed and liaises with legal and insurance advisors to mitigate contractual risks. Additional duties may include coordinating Requests for Proposals/Quotations, reviewing Bids and Proposals, communicating with relevant parties, issuing contracts, preparing invoices, tracking and verification, and managing the contract database and all associated files. This position may also undertake special projects as part of the Finance and Corporate Services team.

Qualifications: All applicants must possess a relevant undergraduate degree, preferably in Commerce or Law, as well as 3 years related experience. Knowledge of and experience in procurement, contract law, contract negotiation and administration in areas such as corporate administration, service provision, employment, construction and research will be an asset.  Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Proficiency in software applications such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
