Description

The Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan (ASOS) is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of people affected by Alzheimers disease and related dementias. ASOS is currently recruiting an ambitious and result-oriented individual to work as a three year full time position as Public Awareness Coordinator.

Role
Reporting to the Manager of Communications and Marketing the Public Awareness Coordinator will help lead the development and implementation of several awareness Initiatives aimed at: promoting dementia friendly communities; our national Dementia Friends program; and other awareness initiatives. Your work will have a significant and lasting impact on the lives of thousands of people affected by dementia.

This outward facing role requires the candidate to be a creative leader with the ability to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships.  
  
In addition, you will have the following key attributes and qualifications:
    Degree in a relevant discipline
    Working knowledge of dementia, caregiving, living with dementia, and the impact on individuals and communities
    Demonstrated understanding of project development and implementation within community-building frameworks
    Excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills
    Ability to present effectively to different audiences with varying degrees of subject matter knowledge
    Experience in facilitating focus groups/stakeholder groups
    Advanced writing skills, including knowledge of web-based writing
    Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to effectively learn and use additional systems, including, client database software, and webinar technologies
    In province travel is required.
