The Provincial Emergency Communications Centre in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan is seeking career minded individuals that are looking for a rewarding career in the field of emergency communications.
The Emergency Communications Centre operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is one of three 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Points that provides a critical service to the province. The Centre also provides monitoring and dispatching services for Fire Departments as well as government ministries that support public safety, protection and enforcement.
Our dedicated professional staff go through a highly developed internal training process which is comprised of a combination of classroom and on the job mentorship training. The program courses are based on internationally recognized standards which include areas in 9-1-1 Calltaking, Emergency Fire Dispatching, Enforcement Dispatching, Canadian Police Information Centre(CPIC), Incident Command System (ISC).
We offer a competitive starting/training wage $17.84 - $24.71 while employees are completing a tiered training program. Successful candidates will also be eligible for portions of the benefits package.
Candidates must:
- Have a minimum of a High School Diploma or Canadian equivalent (e.g., GED, IQAS approved equivalency, etc) is required; preferably to include some post secondary training.
- Possess strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows operating system
- A minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute is mandatory, supported by certified documentation.
- Provide a clear criminal record check during the hire process.
- Provide a certified hearing test during the hire process.
- Possess the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
- Have positive interpersonal skills and the ability to function alone or on a team.
