Description

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is currently recruiting for a budget analyst. This position is responsible for the following:
1. Support the development and maintenance of Saskatchewan Polytechnics operating and capital budgets.
2. Analysis and research of divisional operating budgets for reporting and forecasting.
3. Assist in the development of and the monitoring of Continuing Education programs budgeting.
4. Review and approval of staffing action requests and position control parameters.
5. Liaise with management, faculty and staff on budget/financial issues.
6. Testing, training and interpretation of budget software systems and information.
7. Special projects and other related budget functions as assigned.

Qualifications for this position include:
1. Undergraduate degree majoring in accounting or a two- to three-year diploma majoring in accounting.
2. Professional designation, i.e. CA, CMA or CGA or currently enrolled and successful completion within two years.
3. Considerable knowledge of GAAP including auditing, budgeting, financial statement and report preparation, i.e. cost analysis, budget variance, forecasting, income statement, balance sheet.
4. Two years of experience of an increasing responsible and diversified nature applying accounting and financial theory, practice and procedures relevant to the position.
