Carpet Installer

Weidner Apartment Homes is currently seeking a Carpet Installer for multiple apartment communities. A successful candidate is one who is dependable, experienced and can take direction. The Carpet Installer is responsible for the removal and installation of flooring materials in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with company standards.  The Carpet Installer will be proficient in math and have a working understanding of proper installation methods, and will also be able to seem carpet using a carpet iron and seam tape, as well as seam vinyl edges.  The Carpet Installer will also have a working knowledge of proper methods of cutting carpet and vinyl off of rolls and minimizing waste.  
Primary Responsibilities:
Replace carpet, pad, and vinyl (lino) flooring as directed by the Supervisor
Repair sub-flooring as needed.  This will include the removal and replacement of      
   light weight concrete (Gypcrete), plywood/particle board, and glue-down carpet.
Measure rooms for carpet and vinyl and cut from full rolls, ensuring the maximum    
   usage and minimal waste.  Carpet Installer will ensure cuts are accurate and all  
   carpet inventories can be accounted for.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels at all times and will
   place requests for additional materials through the Regional Maintenance
   Director.
Install baseboard and cove base as needed.
Be proficient in carpet stretching, cleaning, and making carpet and vinyl repairs.
Additional Responsibilities (When no flooring is required):
Assist in the preparation of apartments for occupancy
Assist with service requests
Assist with painting
Assists with maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, as well as small and large appliances
Modest carpentry work as needed
