Description

The Organization:
Founded in 1955 as the Lutheran Sunset Home of Saskatoon, LutherCare Communities provides excellence in care, housing, and community services within a nurturing Christian environment.

In Saskatoon, we own and operate 7 group homes that support physically and cognitively challenged adults.

The Position:
As a Group Home Program Team Leader, you will be responsible to assist residents to and from planned programs.  The successful applicant will organize and supervise the implementation of programs such as recreational events, outings, entertainment, crafts, and other parties.  Responsibilities also include the encouragement and assistance that residents require to participate in such programs.

The Group Home Program Team Leader will be responsible for the management and supervision of the Group Home during Residential Service Managers absence in coordination with the Operations Manager and Group Home General Manager.

The Applicants:
Applicants would typically qualify for this position through the completion of post secondary education in a related discipline (ie: Therapeutic Recreational Diploma, Kinesiology degree, etc.) with experience in the planning and implementation of programs for intellectually disabled adults in a residential setting. Supervisory experience would be considered an asset. Applicants must have the ability to work well under minimal supervision and possess a valid drivers license.  Hours of work are not limited to day shifts as some activities and programs require evening or weekend shifts.  Applicants must be able to plan, implement and coordinate activities, outings and functions for residents. Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand English is essential.
