To perform all manner of basic to intermediate cooking, cleaning and customer service duties where applicable in the area of
food services for St. Thomas More College (STM). The position also provides leadership to casual staff. Reporting to the Executive Chef and Manager of Choices @STM, the General Cook follows the policies and procedures in
Choices under moderate supervision. Workloads may vary, depending upon additional food services and catering events. Peak
service demand times are frequent. The position primarily performs tasks related to the preparation and delivery of food and
food services.The General Cook is accountable for proper handling of all food items in accordance with health regulations. Efficient and
courteous customer service is required. The position requires food preparation, stocking of supplies and maintaining
inventories as directed by the Executive Chef and Manager. The General Cook is responsible for the handling and cleaning of all
food services equipment and for maintaining cleanliness in the Food Services area. Occasionally this position is called upon to
direct the work of casual staff.
