Power Engineering Technology Instructor - Competition #NLC-16-012-3
August 22, 2016 to June 14, 2017 (189 instructional days)
The instructor is responsible for instructing all aspects of the Power Engineering Technology program. Courses include, but are not limited to: Applied Mechanics; Air Conditioning; Basic Electricity; Communication in Technology; Heating Systems; Intermediate Algebra and Basic Trigonometry; Introduction to Microsoft Word and Excel; Instrumentation; Legislation and Codes; Plant & Process Operations; Plant Maintenance; Power Lab; Prime Movers; Process Simulators; Pumps, Compressors, and Lubrication; Refrigeration Systems; Safety; Steam Generation; Technology Seminars; Thermodynamics; and Water Treatment.
Additional duties include: classroom management; taking attendance and submitting it to the Program Assistant/Program Coordinator on a regular basis; monitoring student progress and submitting reports to the Program Coordinator on a regular basis; and other duties as assigned.
The minimal qualifications for this position are: Certified First, Second, or Third Class Power Engineering, 2 years of related experience; and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
