Reporting to the Executive Director, the Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator will present a positive image of Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan to members, volunteers, staff, and the community at large.
Responsibilities:
-Engage individuals with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities from First Nation and Metis communities.
-Engage other community organizations, health care professionals, First Nation and Metis leaders, and other stakeholders to increase awareness of SCI SK programs and services.
-Pursue collaborative opportunities for partnership in service industry.
-Collect and compile information to develop a best practices model for service delivery to Aboriginal clients and communities including urban, rural, and remote communities.
-Prepare a comprehensive report for the Executive Director.
-Communicate verbally and by email both concisely and accurately.
-Maintain confidentiality and practice ethical decision making.
Position Requirements:
-Diploma or degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Experience with Microsoft programs including Outlook.
-Excellent time management, research, prioritization, and organizational skills.
-Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
This is a temporary 26 week, fulltime 35 hours per week position. This position may be located out of Prince Albert or another northern location. Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. A Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check is required. This position will be of interest to those who are unemployed or underemployed and seeking valuable experience with the goal of securing long term employment.
