QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION/TRAINING (IFSAC and/or Pro-Board)
- Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are obtained through the completion of a Diploma/Degree in Fire Administration, Business Administration, Emergency Preparedness/Management or equivalent
- Shall have five (5) to eight (8) years experience in fire prevention, inspection and investigation, Plan and site inspection reviews, Emergency Measures Organizations (EMOs).
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices in firefighting, as well as the use and care of fire apparatus and equipment. Five (5) years is preferred.
- Experience and exposure in a senior level management and the incident command role is a must.
- NFPA Fire Fighter 1001, 1002, (472 Operations)
- NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level II or III (IFSAC, and/or Pro-Board) Certification
- NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor Level II
- NFPA 1031 Fire Inspector Level II
- NFPA 1033 Fire Investigator
- NFPA 1035 Public Fire Safety Educator Level II
- NFPA 1521 Incident Safety Officer
- NFPA 1006 Rescue Training
- NFPA 1051 Wildland Fire
- Minimum ICS 200, 300, (400 considered an asset).
- Emergency Preparedness, Emergency Site Management, Emergency Centre Operations
- Valid Class 3A Province of Sask. Drivers licence, C.P.R. Level C, First Aid.
- 5 year Driver abstract and acceptable RCMP criminal/vulnerability record check required.
- Any other related courses and/or certifications considered an asset.
