Community Dietitian
The Prince Albert Grand Council is now accepting applications for the Temporary position for a Registered Dietitian with the PAGC Diabetes Education and Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program. This position will be based out of Prince Albert and will require travel to PAGC First Nation communities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent and completion of Dietitians of Canada accredited dietetic internship
- Registration or eligible for membership with the Saskatchewan Dietetics Association and Dietitians of Canada
- An excellent understanding of:
- diabetes self care, medications and management
- prenatal nutrition and infant feeding
- Ability to:
- plan, implement and evaluate new and existing programs
- work effectively in a team environment with a variety of clients, families and other health care professionals
- effectively manage contribution agreement funding and program budgets
- accurately complete program reports in a timely manner
- be self directed and work with minimal supervision
- Must demonstrate:
- excellent communication, assessment, organizational and problem solving skills
- an understanding of the principles of patient self management and community development
- a commitment to modeling healthy lifestyle behaviours
- cultural sensitivity
- Security Clearance
- Valid Class 5 Sask. driver?s license and flexibility to travel required.
Assets:
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
- Ability to speak Cree, Dene or Dakota
- Previous experience working with First Nations communities
