Description

AGRONOMIST
12-18 Month Term
Prairie Co-op Strasbourg Ag
Strasbourg, SK

DUTIES
- Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude
- Ensure outstanding courteous customer service is provided
- Develop and administer an aggressive farm contact program with present or perspective customers promoting the agronomic services of the agro centre.
- To provide weed, disease and insect control advice to customers as required.
- To provide field scouting as required and make appropriate recommendations.
- To assist with administering and supervising the custom application service as per
budget guidelines.
- To act as a facilitator for the resolution of product complaint between the customer and supplier within the shortest possible time frame.
- To be responsible for the compiling of accurate records and administration of the agronomy area.
- To arrange informational and training meetings for the grower/producer and provide information and newsletters on a timely basis.
- To assist in the training of Agro Centre employees in accordance with the Associations policy and procedure in the area of crop protection.
- To ensure that the Co-operatives equipment is being operated and maintained in a safe and responsible manner and maintenance of assigned vehicle.
- To be responsible in the area of loss prevention.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or Diploma in agriculture or related field
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a highly motivated team
- Must be creative and resourceful
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate, both orally and written
- Hold a valid Drivers License
- A Certified Crop Advisor designation is considered an asset
