Are you motivated to make a difference in the lives of unwanted animals?
The SPCA Swift Current Animal Shelter has full time and part time openings available in a variety of shift structures, including weekends.
Come to us with basic literacy and numeracy skills, and we will help you build those into valued resume skills that future employers will appreciate. For example, youll learn to:
Administer vaccinations and medications
Implant microchips
Set up and follow personalized animal feeding routines
Follow an established animal quarantine protocol
Safely clean & sanitize animal living quarters
Administer basic pet first aid
Interpret and apply a Veterinarians instructions
Maintain computerized records in our database
Socialize animals and deal with common behavioral issues
Educate and inform prospective pet owners
Setup & take down exhibits of SPCA animals at public events
Multi-task very efficiently!
This is not a desk job! You will be standing, walking, bending and lifting in the course of a day.
You'll have a high degree of personal involvement with each animal in the Shelter. Were looking for people who can stay calm, alert and patient in all situations. But youll be rewarded daily as animals are adopted to their forever homes.
Do you have a good work ethic, common sense and the ability to carry out instructions? Come talk to us! All training is provided. You'll work independently, but always as an important member of a small team of dedicated animal lovers. Anyone working over 20 hours a week will be eligible for our employee benefits program.
