PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Troubleshoot plant equipment problems to minimize plant down time, reduce maintenance expenses and increase equipment availability.
Create and contribute to plant reliability initiatives such as predictive and preventative maintenance programs to increase plant reliability and optimize maintenance costs.
Recommend spares inventory levels and spares philosophy for mechanical equipment.
Provide mechanical engineering input to capital projects and manage projects when necessary (within proposed time and budget).
Provide engineering advice and research materials, specifications and procedures for equipment maintenance, and operation as required. This includes liaison with external vendors and specialty service companies.
Supervise outage and major turnaround activities (either contract or Yara).
Cascade leadings and training from seminars, research and Central Yara Meetings to Maintenance department.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering with eligibility of registration as a professional engineer with APEGS.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of experience in an industrial environment such as petrochemical, refinery or potash in a maintenance environment.
Experience with piping and pressure vessel theory and application in the process industries, familiarity with governing codes.
Exposure to failure analysis methods such as Tap Root RCA.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Excellent computer skills, all the common software plus specialist engineering software.
Well-developed organizational skills and interpersonal skills.
Experience delivering technical solutions in a group environment.
Technical report writing including Root Cause Analysis, Inspection Reports, Reliability improvement recommendation's, etc.
