Are you experienced in full cycle accounting and ready to take your career to the next level?
In this Accounting Assistant position, you will be responsible for executing and supporting the day to day finance/accounting operations of our client, a diversified construction, project management and engineering firm. This will include:
- A/P and A/R.
- Profit and loss, balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Government remittances, including GST and PST returns, ensuring all regulatory filings are submitted on a timely basis.
- Month end documentation, financial statements and weekly reports.
- Ensuring positive and productive working relationships are maintained within the company; represent the company with professionalism, honesty and integrity at all times.
- Greeting customers and answering phone calls.
- Ensuring accurate internal and external billing. Follow up on enquiries, resolve discrepancies and provide solutions.
Education:
- Grade 12.
- Accounting certificate or diploma is an asset.
Experience:
- 2-3 years accounting experience.
- Related experience within the construction/project management/engineering industries considered an asset.
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the full cycle of accounting, i.e. journal entries, financial statements, GL, etc.
Computer:
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel and financial software programs.
- High level of understanding of Simply Accounting/QuickBooks.
