The Yorkton Tribal Council is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual for the position of Economic Development Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Operations the Economic Development position is responsible for but not limited to:
DUTIES:
-Delivery Requirementsl; to administer activities of YTAI own source revenues
-Reporting Requirements: to ensure that all AANDC reports are completed meeting the AANDC agreement deadlines
-Formulate, draft, plan and implement YTAI economic strategies
-Attend and prepare all documents for YTC Ec Dev Commission meetings and YTC Business Development Corporation board meetings
-Assist with business plans and funding proposal preparation on a fee for service arrangement
-Assist YTC member nations with development of their economic environments
-Perform other related dutes as required
Skills and Abilities:
-Ability to develop and analyze business plans
-Ability to identify and promote community economic development projects and initiatives
-Effective verbal, presentation, communication and listening skills
-Effective written communication skills, computer skills including the Microsoft applications, graphics and website
-Proven experience in developing proposals and reports
Knowledge:
-Community Economic Development theories and practice
-Business planning and market analysis
-Financial management and analysis
-Economic Development and business promotion
-First Nations issues/culture and business environment
-First Nation language would be an asset
-Federal, provincial and municipal funding arrangements
