Description

The Registrar is an in-scope position responsible for managing the Colleges student information system, other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing the College student application process, working closely with the OSCM system, which will include designing and identifying barriers, developing solutions for the OSCM system and decide what recommendations to make to the provincial committee, manage the computerized student information system and maintain hardcopy backup files of student records, process and validate student registration/exit forms and input data into the database; ensure that graduating students meet exit requirements of their programs; issue student transcripts and/or certificates for College programs; follow-up on registration/exit forms and student marks with the Coordinators/Program Assistants; conduct previous record checks on students applying for programs; generate and distribute reports as required; represent the College at career symposiums as required; sit on the College Scholarship and Bursary Committee; represent the College on provincial committees; determine student eligibility for student tuition and tax credit according to government guidelines, and assist in producing T2202A forms; orientate new staff and provide direction to clerical support; assist in identifying office procedural problems and offering solutions.

Qualifications for this position are: a relevant two-year post-secondary diploma or equivalent; two years of related experience; a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to remote communities; working knowledge of office procedures and business communication; working knowledge of student information systems; data entry keyboarding skills with a minimum 98% accuracy; intermediate computer skills in database software and spreadsheets; and basic word processing.
