Description

Regina Immigrant Women Centre is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic ESL instructor for stage 1 English Program. The instructor will plan, organize and implement a stage 1 English program for Immigrant learners whose first language is not English.  The position will also be responsible for the formal and informal evaluation of learners including on-going progress assessment and short and long-term instructional planning.


Duties include:
Teach CLB levels 1-4 to adult English as a Second Language Learners
Implement English Language instruction using CLB (Canadian Language Benchmarks) curriculum guidelines in a classroom setting, within a multi-level group-instruction setting.
Incorporate and connect references to life and cultural experiences to the subject material to enhance student comprehension and learning
Prepare lesson plans and set up consultation hours with students on a weekly basis
Document and assess the students for reporting to Director and Funder
Reporting (Monthly & Yearly)

Qualifications:
Ideally, The ESL Instructor should bring the following qualifications to this position:
-Bachelor of Education or higher is preferred
-Completion of TESL (Teachers of English as a Second Language) Canada
-Professional Certificate Standard One interim; and member in good standing of TESL Saskatchewan
-Excellent organization skills
-Knowledge of and experience in cross-cultural settings and willingness to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
-Valid drivers license and willingness to travel
