Northern Lights School Division #113 requires a qualified Program Superintendent in Student Services. Reporting to the Director of Education, he or she will be a member of the school divisions senior administrative leadership team and be responsible for the areas of Special Education, Speech Language Pathology, Room and Board, Homeschooling, Nutrition and Health, School Social workers, Student Support Workers and Educational Assistants.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Teacher Regulation Branch certification or eligibility
- Three to five years of successful teaching experience
- Masters of Special Education preferred or equivalent post-secondary graduate training
- Successful school and division administration experience or equivalent
- Superior interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Exemplary organizational and planning skills
- High energy level and integrity
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Provide leadership for the divisions current and future student learning initiatives meeting the Divisions program needs.
- Strong knowledge of current trends in special education
- Leading the division Critical Response Team including coordination of all aspects of the district
- Behaviour Support and safety planning, addressing student behaviour including student discipline/restorative meetings
- Coordinate support for students with Inter-Ministerial and Community agencies
- Demonstrate the enthusiasm and energy to work as a team member
- Demonstrates initiative and motivational skills which enhance and encourage a collaborative culture with parents and communities
- Demonstrate strong educational and cultural leadership skills evidenced by successful accomplishments
