Description

Simpson Seeds Inc., a family-owned, Saskatchewan-based company, has grown to become the largest privately-owned specialty crop exporter in the province. With three locations and over 35 years of experience in the buying, processing and selling of specialty grains, our growing company now employs over 100 people and exports to over 80 countries.

We are currently recruiting to fill a GRAIN TECHNICIAN (TEMPORARY - 1 YEAR) position at our Moose Jaw Farm Plant location. Working with the Plant Supervisor and Grain Buyer, the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of the grade and dockage process for incoming grains. This includes sending samples for certification, monitoring grain inventory on hand and assisting with grain purchasing, coordination and deliveries.

Qualifications
- Grade 12 education.
- Positive work ethic and the ability to adapt to changing work conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions  both oral and written.
- Superior attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
- Ability to provide superior customer service to all customers.
- Ability to work as a team and to work independently if required.
- Superior communication skills, both interpersonal and in writing.
- Proven office skills and working knowledge of MS Office products  Word, Excel and Outlook
- An ability to work in a dusty and noisy work environment.
- Industry-related experience with a proven knowledge of grain products and quality assessments is ideal, but willing to train the right candidate.
- A farming background is a definite asset.
- A valid drivers license is required.
