Summary of Position:
The QCM is a full time position that will report directly to the General Manager. He/she will be responsible for the quality control program along with the safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections and safety enforcement.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the Quality Control Program to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the plans, specifications and the approved Quality Control Plan;
Responsible for training and instructing employees to conduct non-destructive testing;
Coordinate activities to inspect and test products and processes during the various phases of construction based on criticality and risk factors;
Ensure all supplied materials meet specifications before installation;
Provide training to field staff and supervisors in developing tools for quality improvements;
Assess the strengths and weaknesses of all current and any new potential material suppliers according to risk and impact to the business;
Develop and manage company quality/OHS deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution. Post a list of unresolved deficiencies on a bulletin board;
Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the superintendent and provide written minutes as described in project specific contract documents;
Interface with customers and suppliers on quality issues, including supplying corrective actions to customers and resolving supplier performance issues;
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Engineering;
A minimum of 6 years of experience managing and coordinating submittal processes and performing quality control inspections of the work.
Must have experience in conducting nondestructive testing;
Experience in pipe manufacturing and installation is a plus;
Able to perform physical requirements of the job;
