Description

Radius Community Centre is a community based organization that provides employee development services to unemployed workers and community integration services to children and youth with acquired brain injuries. Radius is committed to supporting creative actions that improve quality of life for all members of the community.

We are seeking a qualified individual to staff the full time term position of Facilitator/Career Practitioner in our Skill Enhancement program. The term for this position is August 29, 2016 to November 25, 2016.

Base Qualifications:
-Post-secondary degree in human services or education
-Experience with adult education and/or employment programs
-Strong workshop facilitation and mentorship skills
-Demonstrated writing and MS Office computer skills

Job Description

Reporting to the Employment Program Coordinator:
-Assist job seekers to develop the employability skills necessary for success in finding and retaining employment
-Facilitate group workshops and discussions from prepared program materials for employment skill development
-Provide one to one coaching to job seekers based on Motivational Interviewing techniques
-Work cooperatively in the Skill Enhancement Team
-Deliver personal assessment tools
-Help job seekers connect with community resources; liaise with support agencies
-Be actively involved in integrated case planning within a team
-Evaluate jobseekers progress using program assessment tools and measures
-Prepare resumes, cover letters and forms to support job seekers
-Duties as required to enable the success of job seekers and the program

The hours of work for this position are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.  The successful candidate for this position will be required to provide an acceptable criminal record check and vulnerable sector search.  No phone calls or walk-ins please.
