Description

The Village of Young requires a Village Administrator. The Village of Young provides:

*25-30 hour work week(schedule to be negotiated at time of employment offer.)
*Full benefits and pension after 3 months.
*Wage to be determined by experience and qualifications.

General Responsibilities:
*Administration:
The Village Administrator is the administrative head of the municipality and is responsible for the overall administration of the municipality including:
-Meetings of Council
-By-laws
-The Village Administrator is responsible for administration, financial management, and human resource management.
-Implementing council priorities

*Financial Management
Sound financial management is critical to the successful operation of the municipality. The duties of the Village Administrator are:
-Preparing the annual financial plan
-Monitoring the financial plan
-Controlling - oversight of and capability to perform the day to day accounting.
-Reporting - providing council with up to date financial information on a regular and timely basis.
-Taxation process - administering the entire taxation process, collection of taxes and management of overdue accounts, and the sale of properties in arrears of taxes.

*Human Resources Management
The Village Administrator is responsible for the management and supervision of the employees of the municipality. Specific duties include:
-Recruitment and development of employees - including hiring, training, evaluation, promoting and dismissing employees.

Qualifications:
-Possess or willing to obtain Certificate in Local Government Authority
-Knowledge of accounting
-Strong communication, management and organizational skills
-Computer skills required
-Previous experience an asset
