Our client is seeking someone to assume a senior grain grading role within their elevator the Moose Jaw, SK area. In addition to the general tasks involved in the receiving and shipping of grain, and operating the equipment involved in the cleaning and/or drying of incoming product, you would complete more in-depth grading of product based on CGC's Official Grain Grading Guide - using standardized grading equipment to identify the main degrading factors, moisture content, pests, etc. to determine quality. In addition, you would oversee and train those new to the industry in basic grading skills.
As expected, you require experience in a grain elevator/terminal. To be considered, you have:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Intermediate or Senior level knowledge of grain grading and cleaner operations; wheat, canola, lentils, barley, & peas
- Supervisory or management experience an asset
- Ability to operate a programmable logic computer (PLC)
- Computer literacy and experience with data entry and have accurate results
- Ability to work well independently or as part of a cohesive team
- Common-sense mechanical ability
- The physical ability to perform the functions of the job (include working outdoors and climbing railcars)
- Good eyesight and colour perception
- No fear of heights
