Carry The Kettle First Nation
is seeking candidates to serve on the
Board of the Nakoda Development Corporation
commencing August 2016.
The Chief and Council requires qualified candidates who are well versed in First Nation issues, economic development opportunities and providing strategic development of the vision that propels the direction to the First Nations entities. Your role on the Board will provide leadership of an organization in transition to a new culture that reflects values such as engagement, transparency, accountability, and other attributes representing leading edge governance.
Qualified candidates will have the business skill-sets, expertise and experience necessary to help create a new corporate vision that leads to a legacy of success in economic development programs and services for Carry the Kettle First Nation
Board Composition
Nakoda Board of Directors consists of 5 Directors with various business backgrounds.
Board Composition Requirements
The Board of Directors must include:
1. At least five (5) qualified individuals who bring the interests of Carry The Kettle First Nation to the table and detailing their skill-sets in any of the following areas:
Audit and Finance;
Governance;
First Nation Law;
Risk Management;
International Relations;
In which they have practical experience, as well as their experience with First Nation partnerships or business opportunities. Candidates will attest to their independence as a business or governance leader, be it at the provincial, territorial, national, or international level.
2. Members of the Board shall not possess a conflict of interest. Or while being a board member shall not be voluntary to a situation in which a person is in a position to derive personal benefit from actions or decisions made in their official capacity.
