A Career with the Reserves
Members of the Naval Reserve work part-time at a local Reserve unit in their community. They work at least one evening a week, one Saturday a month, with training and deployment opportunities available in the summer time. As a reservist, the choice to go on a deployment or additional training is voluntary. Deployments can vary from a coastal patrol to the Queen Charlotte islands, to providing emergency relief in Canada or elsewhere in the world, to joint training exercises with multiple countries such as RIMPAC which is hosted in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Logistics Officers in the Naval Reserve plan, provide, and coordinate basic logistics support to the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Armed Forces such as finances, human resources, food and materiel services at Naval Reserve Divisions, bases, headquarters and to exercises and deployed operations.
The responsibilities of a Logistics Officer include:
Human Resources
Financial Services including accounting, budget control and planning
Coordination of food services, materiel procurement and distribution
Planning and coordinating the delivery of logistics services to units deployed on exercises or operations
Qualifications
A successful candidate must:
Age: be 16-56 years of age (parental consent under 18)
Citizenship: be a Canadian citizen
Education: be enrolled in or have completed a university degree program in Commerce, Business Administration or Economics
