Job Description:     The Director of Care (D.O.C.)  is accountable for ensuring the direct delivery of nursing services within the facility in accordance with Prince Albert Parkland Health Region policies, vision and mission.  

NATURE AND SCOPE:
-Maintains high quality resident care through assessment of residents, families and staff; planning for future needs; implementation of developed programs; and evaluation of the department's services.
- Displays leadership for management personnel and employees through program and policy development, strategic planning, development of goals and objectives specific for the Wheatland Lodge.
- Fosters an atmosphere of respect in the workplace promoting employee job satisfaction and high quality resident care.
- Accountable for overall responsible fiscal management of Wheatland Lodge.  
- Works in cooperation with other department managers and their employees in the provision of care for residents.


QUALIFICATIONS
- Registration with the SRNA or RPNAS  (RPNAS only in Long Term Care Facilities)
- BSN or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Graduate of a recognized school of Nursing
- Management education or 3 years management experience preferred


37.5 hours in a 1 week rotation.
