Reporting to the Exploration Data Manager, this position is responsible for the following duties:
- Develop 3D modeling within the Data Management Group according to AREVA Mines best practices
- Participates with geologists to the development of 3D geological models to guide exploration activities and mine project development projects
- Participates with Project Geologists to exploration database updates, QA/QC and validation
- Performs resource estimations on early or advanced exploration projects, as well as on mature mining projects
- Manages outsourced resources estimation studies
- Performs technical peer review of resource estimations carried out by Consultants, other entities of AREVA, the ARC Engineering and Projects group and JV Partners, in particular Cameco
- Participates in the evaluation of mining projects and mineral properties
- Develops and/or updates procedures related to sampling and database management with respect to NI-43 101 and AREVA Corporate standards
- Develops and/or updates procedures related to resources estimation, and mineral reserves validation
Skills and Qualifications:
- Be a graduate in Geology or Geological Engineering, with a good knowledge of the geology of the Athabasca and of unconformity type Uranium deposits
- Minimum of 5 years of 3D geological and/or resource modelling experience
- Know how in 3D geological modelling (for example on Vulcan, GoCad, Geomodeller, Leapfrog)
- Experience with geological and/or resource modelling software (Surpac, Sermine, Isatis, gslib, sgems)
- Familiarity and/or experience with preparing NI 43-101 compliant technical reports and resource classification
- Experience with database management for the purpose of Mineral resource estimation
- Experience in Uranium geology or mining
