Description

The City of Swift Current is looking for fun and energetic individuals who enjoy working with youth. We require leaders for two of our programs, The Zone (youth program) and the United Way Active Play (after school program).   Opportunities also exist to work as a substitute leader if a person cannot commit to work more regularly.  Students over the age of 17 are encouraged to apply.

The Zone Youth Program is a free drop-in program for youth ages 10 to 15 years old with a focus on providing recreational opportunities and fostering positive relationships. The United Way Active Play School Program is a free program where children have an opportunity to be physically active and have fun, learning about healthy choices such as exercise, nutrition and wellness. These are casual positions with possible schedules of 3 to 8 hours per week.

Basic Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Motor Vehicle Operators License;
Willingness to obtain a Criminal Record Check and a Vulnerable Sector Check as we are a Youth Certified Employer;
Available for evening and weekend work as required;
Ability to deal tactfully and communicate effectively with children,  parents, co-workers and volunteers;

Desirable Requirements:
Previous supervisory experience

The starting hourly rate is $17.61 for day shifts and $18.61 for evening shifts.
