The Early Childhood Education Level 1 Instructor is responsible for instructing three (3) main courses from the Early Childhood Education Level 1 program. The Early Childhood Level 1 Training is comprised of 3 courses from the Early Childhood Education Certificate program from Saskatchewan Polytechnic. These courses are Child Guidance (HUMD 183); Health, Safety, and Nutrition (ECE 142); and Role of Play (ECE 106).
Together the 3 courses meet the license requirement - ECE 1 classification of the Child Care Regulations, 2001, Early Learning and Child Care Branch, Ministry of Education. Students who subsequently apply and are admitted into the Certificate program receive full credit for these 3 courses
The minimal qualifications for this position are: a Bachelor of Education Degree with a major in Early Childhood Education; two (2) years recent/relevant experience in an early childhood setting as a Childcare worker, Educator, or Instructor; Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate; and effective communication and interpersonal skills. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
