The role of the Head of School is to provide leadership to the Montessori community and ensure that the organization is fulfilling its mission to create a respectful, peaceful community where students can nurture and grow their unique talents and develop a foundation for lifelong independent learning. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual to leverage their education expertise and management skills to provide an exceptional education experience to our students and grow the school's presence in Regina.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a workplace culture where staff are highly engaged and motivated to provide the best possible experience to students
- Implement tools, systems and processes for the effective day to day operation of the school
- Develop and manage the budget to ensure the school is operating within its financial constraints
- Effectively manage all human resource aspects of Montessori including staffing, training, compensation, benefits and performance management
- Effectively oversee / manage the timely communication of news / events to staff and parents
- Actively promote Montessori School of Regina to recruit / retain students at all levels
- Actively foster positive relationships with staff, parents, government agencies, schools and other stakeholders, as required
- Work with the Board of Directors to develop a long term vision and strategic plan focused on the continued success and long term growth of the organization
Requirements:
- 5 to 10 years related experience in the education sector as a teacher and/or administrator
- Direct experience with providing leadership to staff (direct reports)
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Saskatchewan Professional A Teachers certificate (or equivalent as per the Ministry of Education)
- Education through an American Montessori Society affiliated program or knowledge / familiarity of Montessori philosophy and teaching methods
