MLTC Technical Services is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the full-time position of Building Operator Trainer.  The Building Operator Trainer is responsible for ensuring that the First Nation Community Building Operators have sufficient knowledge and skills to perform their duties that require adherence to specific regulations and guidelines.

This position requires extensive travel to the First Nation Communities and the Building Operator Trainer will advise and instruct operating personnel on the various aspects of their First Nation's specific building operations.

Duties:

- Maintaining boiler certification and assess level of expertise for each of the operating personnel.
- Provide written reports outlining objectives and results achieved.
- Instruct operators on record keeping/reporting procedures.
- Assist, train, and advise Building Operators in all aspects of the building systems, including trouble shooting on specific operational problems.
- Conduct annual reviews and provide condition reports outlining maintenance projects to be undertaken with follow-up reviews upon completion.
- Assist Building Operator in the development and monitoring of the Operation & Maintenance Budget.
- Assist Building Operator with Fire Marshal's inspection report.
- Other duties assigned by the Technical Services Program Manager.

Qualifications:

- 5th Class Power Engineer.
- A good knowledge of building systems operation and maintenance (i.e. heating systems, ventilation units, intrusion alarms, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems and controls, etc.)
- Supervisory experience and knowledgeable about workplace safety procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work within a team environment or independently.
- Competency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License.
