Job Description: PRIMARY FOCUS
The Regional Manager, Nutrition & Food Services is accountable for the overall management and coordination of quality food service operations for Moose Jaw Union Hospital and Pioneer Housing.  

JOB CONTEXT
A significant challenge of this position is the coordination of services in two facilities, with a significant number of staff in each.  The incumbent deals with significant interpersonal and labour relations issues.  The Manager must stay current as to regulated health and safety standards, including infection control (food borne illness). Daily interaction with various departments at various levels of the organization to determine needs and coordinate work flow is required.  The Manager must maintain positive relationships with employees, internal customers, labour relations consultants, external vendors, contractors and inspectors.

The incumbent operates with a degree of independence, but frequently consults with the Regional Director, Nutrition & Food Services on operational matters in the department.  The Manager provides input and feedback to the Regional Director regarding regional food services standards, policy and purchasing; food specifications and departmental budget.


Required Qualifications

Graduate of a recognized Food and Nutrition Services Management program is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to assume responsibility and work independently
A team leader with outstanding interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain relationships based on trust, accountability and open communication
A proven ability to tactfully deal with all levels of staff, union representatives and external contacts during difficult or delicate situations
