Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of youth during the day; undertaking 1:1 counseling; facilitating group counseling; case management; supervising youth on daily programming, activities and events. Duties of this position include (but are not limited to):
Facilitate intake and/or discharge process of youth
Overall daily supervision of youth: during activities on/off the premises, planned events, etc.
Facilitate one to one counseling sessions with youth
Facilitate pre-post assessments manually or online
In conjunction with the Team Lead and/or Clinical Manager create and maintain a therapeutic care plan for their primary clients
Develop & facilitate treatment programming and group counseling sessions with all youth
Establish working relationships with: family members, social workers, youth workers, NNADAP workers, ICFS workers, teachers, etc. to communicate youth progress, issues, aftercare initiatives, etc.
Provides regular reports on the development progress of clients and provide recommendations
Maintains up to date client files with all pertinent information documented
Establish an ongoing supportive relationship with clients through frequent and daily contact
Minimum qualifications include:
a Certificate or Diploma in Addictions, Chemical Dependency and experience in working with youth. Applicants must have or be eligible to apply for certification through a recognized organization such as: CCPC, CACCF, FNWAC in order to work with youth in the area of counseling. Must have a valid driver?s license & CPIC. Applicants must also lead an addictions free lifestyle & promote their own wellness and an interest in promoting First Nations cultural based programming. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven reliability and the ability to work in a team.
